G Nagaraj or 'The Indian Plogman' is an environmentalist hailing from the small town of Guntakal, Andhra Pradesh. Driven by a commitment to sustainability, Nagaraj founded 'The Indian Ploggers Army' in 2018, aiming to combat waste management issues through innovative and practical initiatives. His approach blends fitness with environmental consciousness, popularising the concept of 'plogging', a fitness trend from Sweden, which involves picking up trash while jogging. Through this activity, the Army promotes physical health and engages in waste cleanups, contributing to both environmental and individual well-being.

Nagaraj's dedication extends beyond waste collection; he actively advocates for sustainable practices such as waste segregation, reduction of single-use disposables, and the promotion of the '6 R's of sustainability' - Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Repair, and Refurbish. He uses his platform to raise awareness of menstrual hygiene, encouraging open dialogue and education among women.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Army distributed clothes, old electronic devices and essentials. They also addressed the digital divide by providing access to education through laptops and phones for the underprivileged.

Nagaraj has collaborated with various organisations, corporations, and NGOs, expanding the reach of his initiatives. His efforts have garnered attention, inspiring many to join the cause and make a difference.

Looking ahead, Nagaraj envisions a future where waste is responsibly managed, and communities thrive in healthy, clean, and green environments.
