Dr Umashankar Subramanian

Dr Umashankar Subramanian is an academician, entrepreneur, administrator and mentor focusing on public health informatics. He is a Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS) graduate from the Government Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital, Bangalore, with a Masters in Public Health from the University of South Florida, USA.

Over the last two decades, Dr Subramanian has worked as a public health expert and principal of Padmashree School of Public Health and is the co-founder and managing director of Arogyayati Private Limited (Med.Bot). Dr Subramanian was the Director of International Programs and Public Health at Meenakshi Mission Hospital and Research Centre in Madurai. During his tenure, he initiated telemedicine programmes recognized by Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam and integrated them into the PURA programme.
As an entrepreneur, he is the co-founder and director of LifeRing Technologies and advisor for numerous healthcare platforms. As an academician, Dr Subramanian is a part of academic boards and advisory councils.

Beyond academia and entrepreneurship, he is part of many social and professional organisations. Dr Subramanian is the Honorary Secretary of the Telemedicine Society of India and Secretary for the Karnataka chapter. He holds leadership roles in the National Association of Palliative Care and Integrated Medicine (Karnataka Chapter) and the Homoeopathic Medical Association of India. He actively contributes to ethical committees and advisory roles for healthcare and educational institutions.
