'Waste to Energy' (WtE) is often seen as an easy solution to burn mixed waste. However, it is not a magic wand that can turn all our waste into energy. We all must respond with responsibility as it has serious long term consequences on our environment and health. It’s important that we keep our waste segregated and compost the wet in our homes or in our communities so that the recyclables can be saved. Mixed waste is any city’s nightmare.

SWMRT, NCR Waste Matters & Saahas collaborated to initiate the information dissemination campaign called ‘whyburnwaste’ WtE and incineration in July 2022. Through a series of data driven posters, films and talks, we hope to reach citizens, administrators and policy makers and help them make informed decisions.
